Gene started his career as a Network Architect, designing next generation solutions for GE, Pepsi and Dell Computers. He has since spent 20+ years in Healthcare, building out an entire Product Development organization for McKesson’s Technology Services Group, building their Virtualization and Remote Hosting businesses, then moving on to create the Cloud Adoption Program in their Office of the CIO. Since the merger of Change Healthcare and McKesson’s MTS group, he has been attacking Enterprise Projects and Problems that have seemed too hard to get across the finish line. His proven track record on getting multi-discipline, multi-team and impossible projects across the finish line has made him a key figure in the Office of the CTO. Gene also has functioned in all his roles as a Technology Champion and Advocate. Most recently, he runs the Technology Adoption and Approval Process (TAAP), the Snack Tray newsletter, the CodeFest Annual Hackathon, CTO Forum, and all content for the TechCon technology conference. Creating trust and bonds between disparate teams and translating vernaculars between business units like engineering, legal, privacy, InfoSec and contracting is a key skill set Gene brings to every engagement to ensure success.
